Extortion!

I applied through Ebay for this loan and was approved very quickly. Took the packet to the dealership and purchased a car. They did not tell the dealership about the $1800 fee when they called to get an authorization number. This fee is going to be deducted from the loan proceeds. ($18,700 loan) A fee to the dealership to do the transaction. Now they are not going to fund my car loan because of the dealership refusing to accept that fee. Nothing in writing from regarding this fee! Extortion! I am going to lose my car that I purchased in good faith with this loan packet in hand.

Roadloans is a complete waste of time and energy

Essentially they are not giving any loans they are a referral service. The roadlons guy on the phone told me about the entire scam. Santander may have the money to loan but they are just getting paid 115-120% the cost of the vehicle to put together the hard money folks with the buyer and the dealer (they keep the 15-20% profit) and don't care if you get a loan or not....total rip of can't believe they have not been sued in a class action suit.......I would not recommend doing business with road loans to anyone...save your money and buy it cash.

Sitting in the dealer now and can't even touch the additional rules they are applying..4th dealer I have been to. Was was so happy I got the loan after a long illness and not having a car for 2 years only to hit road block after road block being told the same thing others are saying here that they don't pay out to the dealer enough to do the sale sometimes rudely save yourself the hurt don't even bother filling out an ap.find a good dealer and go through them.calling road loan don't help they just lie and send you to different dealer.

Horrible Experience

Qualified for loan 20% interest $0 down. ok credit not perfect. I was referred to a dealer for the car I wanted. Orange Coast Chrysler, jeep in Costa Mesa Ca. When I got there and showed the approval docs, at first they seemed confused. Then they explained that roadloans is not a finance company but a referral company. The dealer then proceeded to apply for financing through their provider network. got approved for same interest rate but minimum $1000 down. Then came hardsell. "what is it going to take for you to take this car home tody?" I told them 16% on interest and $0 down which I had already been confirmed for at Carmax via Wells Fargo loan. They would not do it but tried to trap me into it. Conveniently I left my checkbook at home. They offered to drive me to bank to withdrawal the money or even do a counter check. Stay away from both these companies

Refinance thru select email from santander

Updated by user Mar 29, 2013

Do not use roadloans.....ignore emails offering refinance if you are a santander customer

Original review Feb 26, 2013
to make a very long story short my husband and I have a Santander loan which is there so called sister company. We both received an email from Santander that invited us to take advantage of a refinance of our car. I called roadloans first to check requirements and a customer service person told me they do not send that many emails out so fill it out and I would be as good as in. Roadloans advertise to help people with less than perfect credit. So I filled out the application my husband I received we put my husband as the applicant and I was co borrower. His credit was higher than mine. We did not hear from them so I called. Come to find out we were denied and they had listed a 100 point difference in credit score. On this rejection notice it tells the agency they got their score from.. We had just pulled our credit up before we applied so we knew our credit score and of course not what they stated. I called and talk to Sheldon a manger he said don't be mad he will work on it.....we heard nothing ....my husband then got a call from a quanza and he said resubmit it thru the email and he would manually approve it....my husband ask what happen and he admitted a mistake was somewhere.......well we could not get back on thru our invitation email when I questioned why I was told by Sheldon and other customer robots the website was down but be patient give it 2 hours...nothing...Sheldon the manager gave me his email address and I sent several emails asking about what step should we take next....no response....I called and in so many words Sheldon repeated roadloans credit score for us.....which is not any of the 3 main agencies........don't deal with this company..they treat you unfair and I plan on pursuing this to the max......bbb...and local news investigation and more if I can. DO NOT DEAL WITH ROADLOANS

They most likely pulled your auto-enhanced FICO score. This score will be higher than the score you can pull if you have perfect payment history or significantly lower if you have one or more late payments.

They Sell Your Personal Information

Applied for a loan through this company. When calling to speak with a CS rep, she explained that they did not have the loan we were looking for (motorcycle). I told her to go ahead and withdraw the application...thought all was done. 3 days later, I am receiving calls from many other people, stating they have pulled my credit...NEVER Authorized!!! The companies that have called ALL stated that they rec'd my information from Roadloans.com. Called Roadloans office of the president and got a story, Steven said "we do not sell information to anyone" BEWARE!!! There are so many other companies out there that are reputable...STAY AWAY FROM ROADLOANS!!!

Bad customer service

I recently applied for a loan, and i qulified and know I'm getting companies sending me information that I roadloans sent my information to them. It's annoying and not proffesional. They have bad customer service, The did don't even know how to answer my question, and just said that they don't have my information. Do not trust them, now I feel like my information is exposed to alot of people and sounds scary. I regret not searching for reviews in the first place, but know i know that I should review any place before I start any business with them.

RoadLoSucks

Purchased car on Ebay- Prequalified at Road loans. Very High credit score. Submitted all necessary paperwork very timely. I found ROAD LOANS through EBAY on my seller's auction site. I complained to them as well. My Seller became a qualified dealer. After 2 weeks of trying to get the loan they told me I needed to report the transfer to the DMV before they could complete the loan. Every time you talk with them someone new who has no clue. Both the buyer me and my seller were frustrated. They suck. EBAY should be embarrassed. The loan process is extremely difficult and clunky.

Giving away information from loan app.!

I filled out a loan with these people and now I am having to field off endless calls from their affiliates at home and work! They shared all my information!

I will never deal with these people again. Completely unprofessional behavior. On top of all this we were actually offered better loan rates with the dealership where we ultimately purchased a vehicle so all this hassle is for nothing. Do not use these company without checking out other options first!

Even if you have bad credit, dealerships will work with you. You do not need to pay their loan-shark rates.

NOTHING BUT A NIGHTMARE - SCAM ARTISTS

Applied, credit score over 830. Pre-approved for a minimum loan of $6,500.00 maximum $54,000.00 for 72 months at 2.24% - I thought great deal.

When I picked the car and the dealer reached out to them, they told the dealer I only qualified for 60 months at 3.08%. I contact them and they tell me the dealer is not being truthful with me. I did a conference call with dealer and roadloans. Now that the dealer was on the phone, roadloans tells me that their policy is not to have monthly payments less than $140.00, mine would have been about $120.00.

Therefore, they claim that is why they changed the terms. This was not stated ANYWHERE in my approval package. Plus the original approval of a minimum of $6,500.00 for 72 months at 2.24% would have amount to about $96.00 a month so why approve me for that? I still moved forward with them because of the low rate.

For a week both the dealership and I are being told 2 different things and if you wait an hour and call back, they will tell yet something else. The day they received the fully-executed approval package they stated they had everything they needed. The next business day they stated they needed a gap waiver. The dealership advised NYS doesn't have gap and roadloans stated they still needed the waiver.

The dealership asked if I could sign it when I picked up the car and the dealership would fax it to them and roadloans stated yes and that they would overnight a check on Monday for the dealships' receipt on Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon the dealership calls roadloans and now roadloans states that they need the gap waiver before they will send the money. I sign the waiver and it is sent to roadloans. The dealership confirms receipt with roadloans and roadloans once again states they will overnight a check for delivery to the dealership the next day.

The next afternoon, still no check. The dealership contacts roadloans and roadloans states now states they will wire the money in 2 to 3 days. I contact roadloans and ask for a supervisor. I finally get a supervisor and explain all that is happened.

He was just as ignorant as the rest of them. He had no compassion whatsoever and said "I don't know who is telling you these things, your loan was just finalized today." I explained it is his customer service people that are telling me these things. I asked when the dealership would have the money and he said "your dealership knows the process." I said that is not what I asked you, I asked you when they would receive it and I am the customer, I have a right to know. The supervisor then stated that the dealership would receive the money in 24 to 48 hours.

This is a tough decision because I will need to pay 3.66% higher interest to go with another company but enough is enough.

DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THESE SCAM ARTISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!

In my situation Roadloans sent the check (it's a voucher form that looks like an actual check but has to be handled in a certain way) directly to me & I went in like a cash customer. Even after I had negotiated a good price, I got a call the next day from the dealer because thanks to RoadLoans the price of the vehicle ended up being even lower.

Paid the car off in 3yrs drove it for 7.

If you had that many issues with the company, why would u want to continue to do business with them?

Worst Loan Ever

They charged the dealer a fee of 1700.00 for a vehicle worth 15k, outrageous. The worst loans ever and the worst customer service, heck they are even close on Sat-Sun so if you do not get an approval by Friday, your SOL for the weekend. They needed an overnight package delivered, which got there, however it sat in their imaging system for 7 days before they ever imaged it after 3 different representatives said it would be done by 24 hours. Escalated to a manager and it did not help, called and called anc called to no avail, worst ever.

Refused loan based on vehicle type

Refused loan after approval claiming a cargo van is a commercial vehicle. When I called they refused to give me a reason why. They do include a disclaimer in the paper work in the ant print of course after I spent hours searching for a vehicle only to be told no it's a commercial vehicle. Really? Why? "We don't lend on commercial vehicles". Really? Why? Why is a van a commercial vehicle? "If it's over 1 ton". It's not. Do not use roadloans I feel they should at least offer an option for some sort of loan for the excluded vehicles. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with Bree who was all but worthless explaining it.

Bait and switch

They offered me one rate and a low down payment however when i read the fine print it was not at all what i selected. When I tried to get it corrected they would not work with and pointed out another thing that pissed me off. The rate was higher and the down payment was more. Do not accept their offer. The dealerships can and will do better. Well I guess lesson learned, stick with what you know. Now I am stuck with out a car and with out a loan. thank you Road loans for #@$%!#@$ me over. It was fun GRRRRRRRR

Saved from a mistake

I was recently approved for almost $20,000.00 by Roadloans. I found differences between the maximum mileage listed on the web site and what was in my loan package. After doing some research, I found this site and looked at the reviews. All I can say is thank you to Pissed Consumer and the people who posted here. At first, I thought 23 people may just be isolated incidents but it caused me to check with the Better Business Bureau who had no information on Roadloans but did have a list of them for the bank that i believe is the parent company. The reason the BBB gave for not having info is that Roadloans didn't respond to the requests the BBB made. There has to be some reason for that. All said and done, if it sounds to be too good to be true, it probably is. Thanks again to everyone who posted. You guys kept me from making a big mistake.
